Jewellery Care
Looked after properly, 1 gram gold jewellery keeps its colour and finish for years. Almost all fading comes down to three things: chemicals, moisture and friction. Avoid those and a piece will outlast most expectations.
Put jewellery on last
Perfume, deodorant, hairspray and lotion are the fastest way to dull the finish. Get ready first, then put the jewellery on. It is the single most useful habit.
Keep it away from water
Take pieces off before bathing, swimming or washing up. Chlorine and salt water are particularly harsh, and sweat is corrosive over time — remove jewellery before exercise.
Clean it gently
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. If a piece needs more, use a barely damp cloth and dry it immediately. Never use toothpaste, baking soda, alcohol or any commercial jewellery dip — these strip the gold layer.
Store pieces separately
Keep each piece in its own pouch or compartment. Jewellery stored loose together rubs, and rubbing wears the finish faster than wearing does. Store somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight.
How long will it last?
With the care above, expect several years of regular wear before the finish begins to soften. Pieces worn occasionally last considerably longer. And if a piece has reached the end of its life with you, our 50% lifetime buyback still applies.
